Is İncir Altı a meyhane?

Yes. İncir Altı is a traditional meyhane-style restaurant: a long meze spread, rakı and charcoal-grilled mains, served alongside live Turkish and Cypriot music on regular evenings.

Is there live music?

Live traditional Turkish music and fasıl-style performances run on several evenings each week, mostly later in the night at weekends. Call ahead to check which nights music is scheduled.

Do I need to book a table?

What is on the menu?

Cold mezes such as hummus, cacık, şakşuka and stuffed vine leaves, hot mezes including halloumi and börek, then charcoal-grilled lamb şiş, adana, chicken and fresh fish. Rakı, local wine and beer are served, and set meze menus are available for groups.

Where is it and is there parking?

It sits on Abdullah Parla Sokak inside the Gazimağusa walled city (Kaleiçi), a short walk from Canbulat Museum and Othello Castle. Street parking is available around Kaleiçi and most central Famagusta hotels are within walking distance.

Is it suitable for families and groups?

Groups are well catered for with set meze menus and both garden and indoor seating. Families are welcome earlier in the evening; later on, the atmosphere becomes lively and adult-oriented as the music starts.
